PAGE 1 - THE PAST

I am 26 years old now.

Ever since I was in my college, I wished to do higher studies abroad. I had many reasons for that. I wanted to live independently for the first place. I would love to do things myself and can live without being judged. I was ready to learn the pain in making a living abroad, many cases fighting against climate, food, language and many factors which constantly push us to our comfort zones in native place. Secretly, I loved the love and care which my parents and relatives used to shower on me, when I visit them after long gap.

I was moved by the scope of research in my field of education, that the western educational institutions could offer. If you are learning something, go for the best teacher. That was my motto. Searching countries and courses, I spend almost an year. By the time I was in the final year of my Mechanical Engineering bachelor degree. After the 4th and final year, I must be able to find the next resort to support my endeavour. Be it a job or higher education institute. Thinking of USA as a prospective location to advance my education, I prepared for GRE and scored neatly. A good university in USA generally cost you around 25lakhs INR. I started getting upset and decided to go with the job I got through campus placement. My hope was to save enough money for funding my higher education after 2 years of job.

Lavish spending made my savings roll around thousand marks all the time. Many times, I helplessly watched my hard earned 30k burning in the fire so easily. I was not bankrupt by the month end. I could send some money back home. But my expenditure in shopping and outings tied me in the starting point even after two years. So on 31st July 2014, when I completed 2 years with the company I decided to quit the job and look further into higher studies. Job was always a safe choice for me, considering the fact that lakhs of educated youth still wander outside HQ buildings of various companies in this vast country. It was also a matter of pride, that I got placed in the company through campus interview. So decision to leave the job surprised many of my friends and relatives. My parents always used to support me, so I didn't have to think thrice (I always think twice). I gave resignation letter to my boss the next month and got relieved from the company after three more months.

Following was the largest vacation of my life after I started walking, or even speak properly. I ended up in front of my laptop for next three months. Not that I was wasting time in surfing some xxx sites or watching movies. I wanted to take a decision. After all, I started developing thoughts of wasted years and efforts. In order to get rid of regret, I decided to get back those lost years by being over productive. I finalized the courses and then started searching for locations. Once I found few locations, I listed down the universities, shortlisted them and started application process. I used the help of few consultancies besides applying of my own. Now I started getting positive admission results from few of my desired courses.

Now when I sit in front of the Samsung RV509 laptop screen, I realize, it is never late. Here I am starting a blog on my higher education. Hope all of you get information about what you look for. In case of any additional information, errors, clarifications please shoot your words in the comments section. I am always happily open for healthy criticism. Also those who wish to connect, can send me email too...

Have a nice day.
